1991 Honda Accord EX Coupe

We bought this car with 170K miles on it. Yes, 170K. And it runs great. We added the 17" Motegi rims with 235/40 tires.

To ensure the car would serve us well, we replaced the axles, timing belt, water pump, distributor, and radiator. Should be smooth sailing now!

Some specs:

• 2.2L, 4 cylinder 16 valve engine
• 5 speed manual, 17" rims and tires
• EX package, including power sunroof
• Full gauges and rear defroster
• White with blue cloth interior

Things added:

• Sony XPlod CD/MP3/XM head unit
• Sony Xplod 12" sub in box with Legacy LA240 220Wrms amp
• Otto stainless racing muffler with 4" tip
• Custom air intake with foam filter
• Motegi FF5 17x7 rims
• Halo spark plugs

If you've got one of these cars, or are looking at one, here are things to look for:

Mechanical:

• Emergency brake. If it doesn't work right, you have to replace two cables, plus rear calipers, rotors, and pads. EXPENSIVE!
• Squeaky front end. Lots of rubber boots means lots of problems. If one cracks, you'll get either a bad CV joint, bad axle, or ball joint replacement.
• Automatic transmission. They need maintenance or they die quickly.
• Excessive rust around rear wheel wells is common
• Timing belt. Every 60K in this car. If the belt goes, so do the valves.
