1991 Nissan 300ZX

Pictures above of our pearl white 1991 300ZX, normally aspirated. We bought it with 126K miles in incredible condition from an older gentleman in Indiana. More information follows:
The 1991 300ZX without the turbo had 222 hp and required premium gas. It still is a real head-turner, and I received many offers to buy the car just driving it in town. It's a complete blast to drive. This one came with the leather seats, Bose stereo system, and digital climate control. T-tops? Of course - it's a Z.
What we had in ours:
- Mobil 1 10W30.
- JVC head unit, 12 CD changer, and 6x9's in the doors and in the rear (boxes)
- Tinted windows all around
- VBell radar detection system with in-bumper sensors
- Otto Racing performance mufflers
- Kuhmo Ecsta performance tires
- AIV valves - They pump air into the catalytic converters for emissions. They go out at about 80K on almost every Z. They are very expensive ($750 replacement for each).
- Auto trans - Especially in 90 and 91, they go out every 100K or so - it's common - they overheat. Replacement is expensive, and you have to replace the radiator too (it contains the trans cooler).
- Turbos - At about 80K they tend to develop problems. If you see a leak, assume repair is coming soon!
- Suspension - Make sure the rear wheels in particular are straight - if they are bent inwards on the top, suspension work is needed.
- T-top seals - They tend to leak after a few years.
- Timing belt - It MUST be changed every 60K with the tensioner and water pump, and it's not cheap ($700+). If it goes, so does the rest of the engine, so it is REALLY important!
