1987 Nissan 300ZX Turbo

These pictures are of our project 1987 300ZX turbo. It needed a ton of work! We bought it with 103K miles. Engine pictures are pre-detail...
This car is a 5 speed, 200 bhp car. It has a turbo-charged 3.0L V6 engine with lots of torque.
What we had in ours:
- NGK plugs/Bosch 7mm wires
- Dual chrome tips on exhaust
- Gray cloth seat covers
- JVC CD head unit with Cerwin Vega speakers
- Alphasonik 50Wx2 amp with 8" DVC sub tube
- Boostvalve.com boost kit, running at 8psi (stock 4psi)
Some things to watch for when buying 87-89 300ZX cars:
- Sensors - Oil pressure, fuel level, wiper fluid, lights, etc all act up over time. This is only an annoyance, but a very common one!
- Auto trans - They overheat. Replacement is expensive, and you have to replace the radiator too (it contains the trans cooler).
- Suspension - Make sure the rear wheels in particular are straight - if they are bent inwards on the top, suspension work is needed.
- T-top seals - They tend to leak
- Timing belt - It MUST be changed every 60K, and it's not cheap ($300+). If it goes, so does the rest of the engine, so it is REALLY important!
- Fuel injectors - They tend to leak internally and externally, and it's a very common failure.
