1979 Mazda RX-7
The car was one of the first 6 months production vehicles (serial number SA22C515488), purchased December 1, 1978. One of the tell-tale signs of early production is the lack of the passenger side mirror. It was kept exceptionally all its life and is all original, numbers matching. Even the tires were still original, and were not dry-rotted due to sitting in a heated garage! The original exhaust was on the car and still looked pretty good (especially the stock dual polished tips!). The interior was immaculate in every way. The only flaws in the car were an erraticly running clock and the power antenna motor being stuck in the up position.
It had a carbeurated 12A rotary engine, 5 speed manual trans (optional that year), no A/C (original owner said it would be too costly to repair since he planned to keep the car so long), removeable sunroof (another optional piece), and 13" alloy rims (the last option available that year).
This car is destined to be a classic. It was sold to an RX-7 collector in Indiana in 2001.
