The 1979 Ford Thunderbird
This was our 1979 T-bird. Joel's first car! This was a big car that used a lot of gas (12 MPG, average). It was a Florida native which was repainted before purchased. For some reason it always wanted to run hot. It got a new set of tires, new brakes (including master cylinder), carburetor repair, and a new coolant system! Some specs:
- 351ci V8 Windsor engine with 2 barrel carbeuretor
- 185 HP, 3 speed automatic
- 15" T-bird alloy rims with whitewall tires
- AM/FM/8 track stereo with 4 speakers
- Air conditioning, power everything, intermittent wipers, cloth velour interior
- Vacuum-powered pop-open headlights
- Beige with brown pinstriping and landau top
- Audiovox AM/FM/cassette and rear 6x9 speakers
- CB with 6 ft trunk-mount antenna
- Dual square chrome exhaust tip
- Dayton P225/70R/15 white letter tires
